The Hung Man - A queer camp Hitchcock parody

“A tasteless evening of low comedy…I couldn't have loved it more!”

A delirious Hitchcockian farce where murder, repression, and queer desire intertwine in a Manhattan apartment full of secrets — and one very suspicious trunk. The Hung Man gleefully skewers the conventions of classic suspense with high-camp humor and a loving wink toward the Master of Suspense. A much needed timeless escape.

John and Farley may (or may not) have murdered someone--and hidden the body in plain sight. They also may (or may not) be "just roommates." As their guests arrive for a dinner party, including an icy blonde fiancée, a domineering mother, and a nosy detective, the tension (and absurdity) mount to a fever pitch. From Rear Window voyeurism to Psycho matriarchy to The Birds gone berserk, the play is both homage and send-up: a riot of cinematic references, innuendo, and subversive laughter.
